He was involved in Quality and Clinical Governance in the Channel Islands from 1998 to 2001.  He is currently the Clinical Risk Advisor in Sligo General Hospital and has published and spoken at conferences on subjects such as incident reporting, risk management and human factors. He said he welcomed the challenges which being Chair of the HRMF brings, particularly within the current climate.

He said “The strength of the HRMF lies in the body of the membership. With advanced knowledge and skill in healthcare risk management, these members deliver significant support and specialised healthcare risk management direction and advice to our health system. With such a membership, we are well placed to act as an expert advisory body on healthcare risk management systems and to advance healthcare risk management knowledge and practice to enable enhanced quality of services for health service consumers and providers alike”.
